While playing with my nephew sometime ago, we stumbeled onto a site which he enjoyed so much, he wants to visit it every day. I believe that this site was very interesting to my four year old nephew as he got a chance to interact with some of his favourite character from shows such as Sesame Street, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Super Why?, Sid the Science Kid Curious George and Arthur. Parents, teachers, Auntys, Uncles and even older siblings can go to http://pbskids.org to have some educational fun with a little someone special. The kids have so much fun playing with thier favourite characters that they don not even realise how much they are learning. Be careful, as adults tend to become hooked on this site just as easily as the kids.

Apart from reading, math can prove to be a very difficult subject for some students. However, http://ixl.com/math/ can prove to be very useful to many teachers. This interactive site has actvites for children who have not started pre school to children children in fourth grade. This site can be used after a teacher has taught a concept, as it allows the student to engage in activities based on certain concepts, as well as, evaluate themselves.
Being a teacher in a Caribbean classroom today can be paralled to being the haed chef in the cooking of a calloo. The studenst are all mixed up by race, religion, and ability. The "chef" the (teacher) has to also use secret ingredients to make the recipe a success. One of the best secret ingredients is making learning fun. Reading is one of the most important aspects of learning and http://www.starfall.com has a fun interactive way of learning to read. This site has interactive pages set at different stages ranging from learing letter sounds to actually reading passages and story books. This site has also included sign language and excellent audio for the children. Additionally, the site is colourful and uses stories children love. The characters used on this site also reflects a mixture of children from different races and cultures. This will also ensure that the students feel comfortable when they see characters who look just like them. This site is really excallent for teaching children of all ages to read

Hola everyone! Welcome to my blog ...... Hope that you find it interesting.
Skindeep .... as the name says is intended to bring to the table a discussion on teachers treatment of studnets based on the colour of their skin .....
Do you think that this is right?
Should a student of a light complexion be treated better in the class room than one of a darker skin tone?
No all students should be treated equally .....
BUT ?????????? does that really happen ??????????????
